From injury to back in the game
Sports Injury Rehabilitation
in Torrington, CT
A sports injury is not just about healing the tissue, it is about getting you back to your sport with the strength, confidence, and control to stay there. Our team treats athletes of every level, from weekend runners to high-school and competitive athletes, with a plan that runs all the way to return-to-sport.
Rehab that finishes the job: return to sport
Sports rehabilitation is orthopedic PT with a finish line. The goal is not just a pain-free joint, it is a body that can sprint, cut, jump, throw, or lift under real demand without re-injury. That means progressing past the point where the pain stops.
We start by treating the injury itself, then rebuild strength, balance, and sport-specific movement in stages. Each phase has clear criteria you have to meet before moving on, so you return on evidence, not just on the calendar. For many injuries we use techniques like dry needling and Graston soft-tissue work to speed recovery between sessions.
No referral is needed to start in Connecticut. We will coordinate with your physician, surgeon, or athletic trainer when it helps, and verify your insurance before your first visit.

Who it helps
The recreational athlete
Runners, golfers, lifters, and weekend players who want to get back to the activity they love without it nagging them for months.
The competitive athlete
High-school, college, and club athletes who need a structured, criteria-based return-to-sport plan, not just rest.
Post-injury, pre-return
You are healing but not confident the joint will hold up. We bridge that last, riskiest gap before full activity.

Sports Rehab: common questions
When should I start rehab after a sports injury?
Usually sooner than people think. Early, guided movement protects healing tissue while preventing the stiffness and weakness that drag recovery out. If you suspect a fracture or severe injury, get it evaluated medically first, then call us to start rehab.
Will you clear me to return to my sport?
We use objective return-to-sport criteria, strength, balance, and sport-specific testing, so you return when your body is genuinely ready, not just when the pain is gone. We will coordinate with your physician or surgeon when clearance involves them.
Do you treat youth and high-school athletes?
Yes. We regularly work with younger athletes and tailor both the rehab and the return-to-play timeline to a growing body and the demands of their sport.
Do I need a referral?
Not to begin. Connecticut Direct Access lets you start PT without a physician referral, though some insurance plans require one for coverage. Call (860) 489-0867 and we will verify your plan.
